... from smiling widely!!!

Just an hour an a half ago, I received a text:

Hi Cat, m pleased to inform
u that we chose (insert name of bar i work in) for
our bar services for the
party. Thanks for d prompt
attention 2 our
requirements. Wil fax u docs
tomorrow. :)

Ohmygod! I ym-ed my uncle aka boss right away. Thank God he was online! He rarely is at a time like this. He congratulated me and asked who were we up against. I couldn't resist but reply, "Teka! Tatalon talon muna ako dito sa office! :D (Wait! Let me jump around the office first! :D) Yup, I was at the office at 10:10 PM. I'm still here actually. I just had to blog about this moment.

Why am I so happy? Because this is a major account I bagged! Six figures, baby!!! The said company has 800 people employed under its name. They held their Christmas party at our bar 2 years ago, when they were only 600 people (What do you mean 'only'?! That's a lot!). It was the most difficult and tedious Christmas party we handled because the organizers had many requirements and ideas they wanted to implement. In fact, whenever we give our operations manager an exam, we give the details from the said company's Christmas party to see how will he/ she handle it!

Difficult it may seem but the earnings were well worth it! They had an open bar and anybody could just get any drink (provided they had stubs, of course!) Money was not even an object to them because they knew that most of the employees were nerds and geeks and that the Christmas party is the only time they let loose! And let loose, they did. Among the hundreds of parties I've handled, I've never seen as many people drunk/ passed out/ threw up at the parking lot/ had to be carried down the stairs as much as this company's.

I guess what cinched the deal for us was that we had an advantage over the other bars. After all, they held their party with us before and thus, we can gage, more or less, how much they can consume. I'm so glad that Cuervo decided to give 1,600- 2,000 shot glasses for their party (Whoa! That's a lot, I know!) That really sealed the deal for us.

Ah, I'm just so happy!

Now, I can never predict the future. But I foresee a big, fat bonus by the end of the year! :)

Thank you, everybody!!! :D

Maiji: I know! Isn't it great? :D

Dezphaire: I hope none of your clients would call a Saturday meeting this time! A lot of first timers in our block, like you, are going too! Like Monina and Kaye!

Tintin: Thanks! It is indeed an accomplishment. Whenever I think about it, I still smile and everyone on the management team is excited about it.

Toni: I'd love to divulge where I work but I can't for security purposes. :) Although, there was a time I slipped in my blog and mentioned. As soon as I realized it, I edited my blog. :p

Cat: Thanks! We do try our best to give quality service. :)
